Instructions on how to properly and effectively clean tile grout
Ron or circuit is the line connecting and extending between the bricks on the floor. Although this is only a small detail, it plays a very important role. The grout is considered the link between the bricks; prevent water seepage to the ground; avoid dust and ensure the quality of the substrate surface. The quality of the grout will depend a lot on the construction techniques of the workers. Below we will guide you on how to properly and effectively scrub floor tiles.
Step 1: Prepare the surface
Before grouting, you need to let the tile adhesive dry for at least 24 hours. After the glue has dried, you begin to clean, remove any stains or glue left in the joints while glueing the tile. This stage will ensure the certainty of the joint; The colour of the grout will not be affected during use.
Step 2: Mix grout glue
- Pour clean water into a cup or bucket.
- Slowly add the grout according to the ratio of water: glue = 1: 2.5.
- Use a trowel or a clean wooden stick to stir until a homogeneous and lump-free mixture is obtained.
- Check the smoothness of the glue after it has been mixed.
Note: If you use WDB tile grout, ask the staff for detailed instructions on how to use it.
Step 3: Carrying out the application of grout glue
- Apply glue on the joints and then use a rubber trowel to press the glue into these joints at a 45-degree incline. You should use a rubber trowel to ensure elasticity. This will help the glue can be fully covered in the joints and the operation is also faster.
- After applying 10-15 minutes, use a sponge to wipe away excess glue in a spiral. Perform this step before the glue dries for the best possible maintenance of the grout.
- After about 2 hours, you use a sponge or rag to dry and clean the surface of the floor that has just been scrubbed. Normally, grout glue will take about 24 hours to dry and ensure adhesion before being put into use.
Things to keep in mind when grouting tile floors
- Do not pour glue on the floor and then pour the mixing water like mixing mortar.
- Do not use dirty water or water with impurities to mix the glue but use clean water.
- Avoid applying and using glue in very hot weather or high-temperature places.
